Ones to Watch: Hakan Çalhanoglu
Beckham. Carlos. Juninho. Pirlo. These masters of the dead ball transformed the way opposition players approached their teams, with any fouls within a dozen yards of the box presenting immediate goalscoring opportunities.
Hakan Çalhanoglu is the latest heir to the set piece throne. The Bayer Leverkusen playmaker is among the most deadly free kick takers in Europe, and the recent England friendly against Turkey worked to showcase his ability from the corner flag, too. Turkey's Euro 2016 opponents won't want to give Çalhanoglu too many opportunities to trot out his party piece.
But Çalhanoglu is more than just a dead ball specialist. Now 22, the midfielder is a certain starter for Turkey and will patrol the middle of the park alongside the likes of Barcelona's Arda Turan, Dortmund's Nuri Şahin and the former Arsenal Starlet Oğuzhan Özyakup. Çalhanoglu will look to use his range of passing and eye for goal to unlock defences in a tough group including Croatia, the Czech Republic and defending champions Spain.
And if he gets the opportunity to take a free kick or two, expect fireworks.
